A few months ago, a particularly wonderful image came into our lives. I can’t remember the exact circumstance, but perhaps by chance, we found this amazing image of Jesus hugging a baby dinosaur. What could be better?! Two of our very favorite things.
I knew right away that I needed to make my very first “photo cake” for Dan’s birthday (today). And, for the most part, I kept it a secret.
It was definitely a hit last night as a few of us got together for dinner in East Atlanta. In typical Dan style, he refused (and I mean REFUSED) to let me throw him a party. So please don’t be offended if you weren’t invited to our gathering.
I have to give huge props to the Walmart on Howell Mill’s bakery department. I worked with two different women who didn’t even bat an eyeball when I presented them with this photo. It was as if they’ve made thousands of raptor cakes over the years and they did a wonderful job.
What I don’t want is for this raptor cake to take away from what & WHO we are celebrating… for those of you who don’t know him, Dan is the most talented person I know (& we know some amazingly talented people!!) He is the editor behind my artistic photos, as well as an amazing musician and songwriter. He has played on more albums than I can count this year alone and he is without a doubt, the most HUMBLE person you’ll ever meet. He never gets enough credit from anyone, myself included, and he doesn’t want it. But he deserves it!
I am so blessed to have met him almost 10 years ago and even luckier to have been his best friend ever since. My life is so much fun because he’s in it. And we have the most awesome friends on the planet! Thanks to everyone for making it such a special week. And Happy Birthday, Dan!!
